4 Ways to Enjoy Your Fireplace This Holiday Season

4 Ways to Enjoy Your Fireplace This Holiday Season

The fireplace is the heart of your home, where family and friends gather, but that’s even more true during the holidays. When the weather gets cold and the fire is crackling, some of the best moments of the season happen in the cozy glow of a fireplace.

When the weather outside gets frightful, the best place to spend the season is warm by the fire, so we’ve gathered our 4 favorite ways to enjoy your fireplace this holiday season. You’ll be sure to feel the Christmas spirit in front of the warmth of a glowing fireplace.

Writing Letters in Firelight

1. Write letters to your loved ones in the firelight.

Spending time with loved ones is one of the best things about the holiday season. Start a new family tradition this year to celebrate those closest to you. Gather around the fire and write letters to each other. You could write about a memory you made during the year or say why you’re thankful for them. The kids can write their letters to Santa Claus at the same time! You can seal the letters to give to them on Christmas morning. In the cozy glow of the fire, you’ll be sure to feel the holiday spirit when you take time to remember the reason for the season—cherishing your loved ones.

Reading by the Fireplace

2. Read a holiday book by the fire.

During the hustle of the holiday season, it’s easy to get caught up in the Christmas parties, gift shopping, decorating, you name it. But don’t forget to take some time to unwind and enjoy the holiday season for yourself. One of the best ways to relax during the holidays is to get caught up in something else instead—a good holiday-themed book. Reading in the soft glow of a warm fireplace is an unmatched feeling, so be sure to carve out some time for relaxing by the fire with a good book this year.

Stockings Hanging by the Fireplace

3. Decorate the fireplace mantel.

From hanging stockings to putting up the Christmas village, there are so many ways to decorate a fireplace mantel (we decorate 10 of them in our showroom every year)! An easy way to decorate your fireplace mantel is by laying down a long piece of greenery or garland, wrapping it with lights, and getting some picks or poinsettias to stick throughout the garland. Finish it off with an arrangement of stocking holders spaced in front of the greenery. Hang your stockings on the stocking holders and you’ll be feeling festive in no time!

Relaxing by Fireplace

4. Enjoy a fun day in the snow—and a cozy night by the fire.

Winter weather gets a bad reputation, but there’s a lot of fun to be had in the snow. From ice skating or skiing to sledding and building a snowman in the backyard with your family, there’s something fun for everyone in the winter. But in our opinion, the best part of spending a day in the snow is what comes after. Taking off your wet, cold snow boots in exchange for cozy loungewear, a hot drink, and an evening spent warming your toes and fingers by the fire—there’s no better way to end a winter day. You’ll be sure to cherish the warmth of your fireplace almost as much as the time spent with your loved ones.

Don’t let another year go by wishing you had a fireplace for the holiday season.

Christmas may be just around the corner, but your free estimate on a new stove or fireplace is even closer.

Happy holidays!
